midazolam (combative behaviour)
A
Repeat
patients greater than 65 years of age or with smaller body mass should receive the lower dose.
2.5 mg or 5 mg SIVP q 5 max 20
Or
5 mg or 10 mg IM q 15 max 20
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
- Myasthenia gravis
- Systolic BP less than 100 mmHg

To be used in conjunction with haloperidol (can be mixed in the same syringe

1 mg SL
q 5 minutes prn to a total maximum of 2 mg

Adult Dosage
5 mg IM/IV q 15 PRN total max 10 mg
Half for patients 65 years of age or older
- Hypersensitivity
- CNS depression / severe depressive states
- Spastic disease
- Parkinson’s syndrome
- Comatose states
- Seizure history
