patients greater than 65 years of age or with smaller body mass should receive the lower dose.

2.5 mg or 5 mg SIVP q 5 max 20

5 mg or 10 mg IM q 15 max 20

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
• Myasthenia gravis
• Systolic BP less than 100 mmHg

midazolam (excited delirium)

midazolam 5 mg or 10 mg IM

To be used in conjunction with haloperidol (can be mixed in the same syringe

q 5 minutes prn to a total maximum of 2 mg

5 mg IM/IV q 15 PRN total max 10 mg

Half for patients 65 years of age or older

• Hypersensitivity
• CNS depression / severe depressive states
• Spastic disease
• Parkinson’s syndrome
• Comatose states
• Seizure history
