What are the different parts Scrum is made of?
Scrum is process framework made up by the Scrum Team and the associated roles, event, artifacts and the rules that bind them together.
Short definition of Scrum
A framework within which people can address complex adaptive problems, while productively and creatively delivering products of the highest possible value.
What kind of work can be addressed with Scrum?
Complex adaptive problems.
What is the foundational principle of Scrum?
Scrum is founded on empirical process control theory, or empiricism.
Which are the three pillars or Scrum?
Transparency, inspection and adaption.
What is the goal of inspection?
Finding undesirable variances.
What does transparency involve?
Visibility of significant aspects to those responsible for the outcome. These aspects need to be defined by a common standard, e.g. the Definition of Done.
What does adaption entail?
When inspection determines an unacceptable deviation adaption defines the necessary changes to minimise further deviation.
Which events support adaption?
Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective.
Which are the five core values in Scrum?
Commitment, Courage, Focus, Openness and Respect.
Which are the roles of a Scrum Team?
Product Owner, Development Team and Scrum Master.
What are the attributes of a Scrum Team?
A Scrum Team is cross functional and self-organising.
How do Scrum Teams deliver?
Scrum Teams deliver iteratively and incrementally, maximising opportunities for feedback.
What is the key responsibility of a Product Owner?
The Product Owner is the sole person responsible for managing the Product Backlog.
What does managing the Product Backlog entail?
# Clearly expressing Product Backlog items; # Ordering the items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and missions; # Optimising the value of the work the Development Team performs; # Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum - Team will work on next; and, # Ensuring the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed.
