Q

Psalms 1:1-3

A

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water,
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.

Psalms 5:1-3

A

Give ear to my words, O Lord;
give heed to my groaning.
Hearken to the sound of my cry, my King and my God,for to thee do I pray.
O Lord, in the morning thou dost hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for thee, and watch.

Psalms 5:11-12

A

But let all who take refuge in thee rejoice, let them ever sing for joy;
and do thou defend them, that those who love thy name may exult in thee.
For thou dost bless the righteous, O Lord; thou dost cover him with favor as with a shield.

Psalms 9:9-10

And those who know thy name put their trust in thee, for thou, O Lord, hast not forsaken those who seek thee.

Q

Psalms 13

A

How long, O Lord? Wilt thou forget me for ever?
How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him”; lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in thy steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Q

Psalms 32

A

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I declared not my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
I acknowledged my sin to thee,
and I did not hide my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my trangressions to the Lord”; then thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin.
Therefore let every one who is godly offer prayer to thee; at a time of distress, in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.
Thou art a hiding place for me, thou preservest me from trouble; thou dost encompass me with deliverance.
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, else it will not keep with you.
Many are the pangs of the wicked;
but steadfast love surrounds him who trusts in the Lord.
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Q

Psalms 40:11-13

A

Do not thou, O Lord, withhold
thy mercy from me,
let thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness ever preserve me!
For evils have encompassed me
without number;
my iniquities have overtaken me,
till I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me.
Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me!
O Lord, make haste to help me!

Psalms 43:1-3

A

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Q

Psalms 51:10-13, 17

A

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence,
and take not thy holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of thy salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners will return to thee.

The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Psalms 59:16-17

A

But I will sing of thy might; I will sing of thy steadfast love in the morning.
For thou hast been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my Strength, I will sing praises to thee, for thou, O God, art my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.

Q

Psalms 61:1-4

A

Hear my cry, O God,
listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to thee,
when my heart is faint.
Lead thou me to the rock that is higher than I;
for thou art my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
Let me dwell in thy tent for ever!
Oh to be safe under the shelter of thy wings!

Q

Psalms 62:5-8

A

For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.

Q

Psalms 94:17-19

A

If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have dwelt in
the land of silence.
When I thought, “My foot slips,” thy
steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
When the cares of my heart are many,
thy consolations cheer my soul.

17
Q

Psalms 103:8-14

A

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger for ever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor requite us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father pities his children,
so the Lord pities those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.

18
Q

Psalms 116:1-15

A

I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as
I live.
The snares of death encompassed me;
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I beseech thee, save my
life!”
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
our God is merciful.
The Lord preserves the simple; when
I was brought low, he saved me.
Return, O my soul, to your rest;
for the Lord has dealt bountifully
with you.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling;
I walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.
I kept my faith, even when I said,
“I am greatly afflicted”;
I said in my consternation,
“Men are all a vain hope.”
What shall I render to the Lord
for all his bounty to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord,
I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his saints.

19
Q

Psalms 118:5-6; 13-14

A

Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me free.
With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can man do to me?

I was pushed hard, so that I was falling,
but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.

20
Q

Psalms 119:75-76

A

I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.
Let thy steadfast love be ready to comfort me according to thy promise to thy servant.

21
Q

Psalms 119:165

A

Great peace have those who love thy law; nothing can make them stumble.

22
Q

Psalms 127:1-2

A

Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

23
Q

Psalms 130

A

Out of the depths I cry to thee, O Lord!
Lord, hear my voice!
Let thy ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications!
If thou, O Lord, shouldst mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with thee,
that thou mayest be feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plenteous redemption.
And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

24
Q

Psalms 138:6

A

For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he knows from afar.
