Psalm 1

A

Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does he prospers. The wicked or not so, but are like the chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 139

A

Oh Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path in my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. even before word is on my tongue, behold, oh Lord, you know it all together. You hit me in, behind in before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Where shall I go from your spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I send a heaven, you were there! If I make my bed and Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me being night, even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is the brightest day, for darkness is its light with you.

For you formed my in with parts; you needed me together in my mothers womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes so much informed substance; in your Burke were written, everyone of them, the days that were formed for me, when is yet there was none of them.

How precious to me or your thoughts, oh God! How fast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. Are you awake, and I am still with you.

Oh that you would slay the wicked, oh God! Oh man of blood, depart from me! They speak against you with malicious intent; your enemies take your name in vain. Do I not hate those who hate you, oh Lord? And do I not load those who rise up against you? I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies.

Search me, oh God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any Grevious way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
