Purpose of provings?
A
- testing of substances to discover their healing properties on healthy volunteers who journal their symptoms & interviewed during test period
- used to expand knowledge of material media & # of known remedies.

A
- compilation of knowledge about therapeutic properties of substances administered.
- includes compendium of remedies, with their detailed symptoms, tissue & organ affinity & their sources

A
- No ill & healthy
- Not undergoing high stress levels
- Familiar with homeopathy (*helpful not essential)
- Not anxious/ neurotic

Methodology of provings?
A
- Coordinator pairs prover & supervisor
- Provers record baseline symptoms & are interviewed 1 to 2 weeks prior
- Coordinator distributes remedy/placebo to provers and proves takes 1 to 3 times per day
- Once symptoms/sensations/feelings occur prover stops & records symptoms
- Supervisor interviews prover daily
- Coordinator reviews & material on new remedy can be recommended.
** supervisor & prover are blind
** if no symptoms occur after 1 week, prover stops

Why do we see contradictory symptoms for same remedy?
A
Prover overdoses to trigger a body response
-can be primary or secondary action symptoms
