diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and vomiting

Laboratory Diagnosis
- Identification of cysts in the feces
- Samples of duodenal fluid or duodenal biopsy may demonstrate trophozoites
- Antigen detection tests by enzyme immunoassays, and detection of parasites by immunofluorescence.
Giardia intestinalis - prevention
Don’t drink water from streams and lakes, without boiling
Do not brush teeth with contaminated water
Cook everything you eat
wash hands after contact with pets, diapers, before eating food.
