protocol Flashcards
dipridamole
hold for 24-48 hours, if used with adenosine or regadenoson their half lives are prolonged due to inhibition, very rare to cause AV block
adenosine causes av block in
7.6%, 2nd degree 4% and complete <1 %
Presence of 2nd/3rd degree of SSS
contraindication to adenosine, regadenoson or dipyridamole
Rest or pharm stress wait
30 mins - 60 mins for hepatobiliary activity to clear
exercise stress wait
10-15 mins minimal hepatobiliary activity
if you scan and stomach or intestine too hot
have pt drink water
liver to hot on scan or intestine
wait
prone positioning can cause
artifactual anteroseptal defect 2/2 to increased sternal attenuation
acquisition time supine vs prone
reduced in prone by 20-40%
Acquisition energy window w/in
20% so for Tc99 126-154
Simultaneous protocol images are acquired
at the same time
simultaneous protocol images injection
inject with thalium normal 3-4 millicuries, stress with low dose of Tc99
motion artifact
creates a hurrican effect which MC correct for but only in vertical plane (horizontal and rotational motion cant be corrected)
Ramp filter
seen during filtered back projection uaing a ramp filter we get loss of counts in adjacent myocardial walls
ring artifacts
seen with nonuniformity across the camera head (check by daily floods)
