How is the gated channel protein specialised
A
It has a binding site that when a specific molecule binds to it it changes the shape of the protein allowing the molecule to travel through the protein and the membrane

How do carrier proteins work
A
They pick up molecules that match the shape of the binding site the proteins then rotated and deposits the molecule the other side of the membrane
