Protein Synthesis Flashcards
Learn something about this
What are proteins?
They are large very complex molecules necessary for every living organism. (plants/bacteria)
Genetic traits rely on proteins
What are the building blocks of proteins.
Amino acids.
How are proteins unique?
Each proteins has a specific function and a specific shape to enable it to preform.
How does DNA code for amino acids?
Each 3 bases of DNA codes for a specific Amino acid.
DNA stands for?
Deoxynucleic Acid
Where are proteins created?
In the ribosomes.
Why do we need to convert DNA?
Because it’s to large to leave the nucleus.
What’s DNA converted to?
Messenger MRA
RNA stands for?
Ribonucleic acid.
What’s the process called to get DNA to MRA?
Transcription.
What’s the enzyme involved in Inscription?
RNA Rolymeruse.
What’s the role of RNA polymerase?
To read the DNA and build the MRA strand.
