What is biodiversity?
The different kinds of plant and animal life in the world or in a particular habitat.
What is carbon dioxide (CO2)?
A gas that is released when people and animals breathe out or when something is burned.
What is climate change?
A change in global or regional climate patterns.
What is a fossil fuel?
A natural fuel such as coal, oil or gas, formed long ago from the remains of living organisms.
What is global warming?
A gradual increase in the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere.
What are greenhouse gases?
Gases (including CO2 and methane) that help to trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere.
What are micro-plastics?
Tiny pieces of plastic debris resulting from the disposal and breakdown of plastic goods.
What is a non-renewable resource?
A resource that will eventually run out, e.g., oil.
What is a renewable resource?
A resource that will never run out, e.g., wind power.
What is sustainability?
When you avoid using up non-renewable natural resources.
