reline definition
adding new base material to the surface of an existing denture in a quantity sufficient to fill the space between the original denture contour and the altered tissue contour
rebase definition
replacing the entire denture base material of an existing denture
temporary reline
mainly done for tissue conditioning of grossly ill fitting dentures prior to new denture construction
e.g coe-comfort
soft reline
useful if parafunctional habits or very atrophic ridges
can deteriorate due to plasticiser leaking - needs frequent replacement

- local measures - brush palate daily, good denture hygiene, keep dentures out as often as possible

- fluconazole 50mg 1x day 7 days

- miconazole 20mg/g gel to denture fitting surface 4x day

- nystatin rinse 100,000 units/ml
