Subtraction property
If equals are subtracted from equals the results are equal
Addition property
If equals are added to equals the results are equal
Multiplication property
If equals are multiplied by equals the results are equal
Division property
If equals are divided by non-zero equals their quotients are equal
Substitution property
If a=b than either a or b may be substituted for the other in any other equation
Transitive property
If two equals are equal to the same quantity than they are equal to each other. a=b, b=c, than a=c
Reflexive property
Any quantity is equal to itself
Symmetric property
The positions of the expressions on either side of an equals sign may be reversed
Adjacent angles
Adjacent angles are angles that have the same vertex, share a common side, and have no interior points in common
Complimentary angles
Complementary angles are angles with measures that add to 90
Supplementary angles
Supplementary angles are angles with measures that add to 180
A linear pair
A linear pair is two adjacent angles whose exterior sides form a straight line
Vertical angles
Vertical angles are a pair of nonadjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines
Perpendicular lines
Perpendicular lines are lines which intersect to form right angles
perpendicular bisector
A perpendicular bisector is a line that is perpendicular to a line segment and intersects the line segment at its midpoint
