Q

Describe an experiment to measure the speed of sound in air:

A

Use equation:
Speed = Distance ÷ Time
2 students stand 200 m away from each other. They measure the distance by using a tape measure.
One student has a stopwatch.
Another has a pin and a balloon
The student with a stopwatch times the duration between seeing the other student pop the balloon and actually hearing it. Repeat it 3 or more times for accuracy

Speed of sound = 200 (m) ÷ x (s)
