Horizontally. Even moisture distribution. 10 to 20 degrees
What should be done to propellers with a variable pitch change mechanism if stored periods up to 3-6 months? (Flushed with? Cleaned with? Covered with?)
Flushed with inhibiting oil, cleaned using soapy water after ground run, covered in wax paper and anti corrosive substance (lanolin)
What should be done to wooden uninstalled propellers for storage periods up to 3 months? How often? Coated by? How should they be stored if blades are metal?
Hub filled with oil and turned every 2 weeks. Coated by ant corrosive substance (lanolin). Upright supported by a mandrel
If blades have pre-loaded bearings then what must happen at the 6 month point?
Blades rotated to prevent brinelling
What is the only difference for when installed blades are stored for 12 months? What happens on the 6th and 9th month? What happens after 3 years?
Bearings must be removed to inspect for brinelling. Blades are exercised. Propeller sent for overhaul
What is the only difference between uninstalled storage to installed storage of over 12 months?
Propeller doesn’t require reinhibiting every 12 months
What 3 forms do all parts held in storage require?
Form 1, COC, CRS
