Appeals to our need to be with the group/ you must join in to fit in,
Name-calling
A negative word/feeling attached to an idea/product/person.
Testimonial
When a famous person endorses something, you should too.
Glittering Generality
An admired virtue used to describe a product/ person to let the audience to have good feelings about it.
Plain-Folk Appeal
Something associated with normal, everyday people.
Transfer
Symbols/Questions/Images used to convey a message that might be totally unconnected.
Emotional Words
Positive/Negative descriptions that leave us with a positive/negative feeling about the product.
Faulty Reasoning
Factual supporting details are used although they do not support the conclusion.
Fear
Ideas/Candidates/Products shown to put our fears at rest.
