Pronoun
Type of speech that replaces a noun in a sentence
Personal pronoun
Pronoun that refers to a specific person
Ex. He she it them
Possessive pronoun
Pronoun that demonstrates ownership
Ex. Mine, yours, his, her, ours
Indefinite pronoun
Pronoun that refers to things or people in general
Ex. Everyone, all, nobody
Relative pronoun
Pronoun that connects a phrase or clause to a noun or pronoun
Ex. Who, whom, which, that
Reflexive pronoun
Pronoun used with another noun or pronoun when something does something to itself
Ex. Pronouns that end in “self” or “selves”. “Yourselves”
Intensive
Emphasize a noun or pronoun
Ex. Myself, himself, themselves
Demonstrative pronoun
Focus the attention on the nouns that they are replacing
Ex. This, these, that, such
Interrogative pronouns
Used when you are asking a question
Ex. Who, which, what, whatever
