Be able to identify the 9 different types of pronouns and how they are used in our speech.
A pronoun that represents people (he, she, him, they, us)
Personal Pronoun
A pronoun that indicates or “points out” an object (this, that, these, those)
Demonstrative Pronoun
A pronoun that is used when asking questions (what, when, who, where)
Interrogative Pronoun
A pronoun that refers to a non-specific thing (something, anything, some, all)
Indefinite Pronoun
A pronoun that shows ownership (his, hers, their, our)
Possessive Pronoun
A pronoun that gives in return or gives back (one another, each other)
Reciprocal Pronoun
A pronoun used to link a phrase to another word (which, that, whom, whose)
Relative Pronoun
A pronoun that ends in “-self” and refers to another noun or pronoun in a sentence (herself, himself, themselves, ourselves)
Reflexive Pronoun
A pronoun used immediately after a noun for emphasis (the dog itself, he himself, Rachel herself)
Intensive Pronoun
