One advantage of online promotion is that there are so many platforms across the media. This can mean that many people can see Zara’s advert and may be interested in buying some of their products which can attract a lot of customers as Zara may advertise on multiple social media platforms. However, when promoting their product, it may not fit into some of the customers needs and wants e.g. they may not fit into a specific age category which will result in some or many people ignoring the advert. This can waste lots of money which Zara has put in for promoting their product which can cause problems within their business and perhaps may Zara to go into a loss.
Moreover, another advantage of online promotion is that there are a prodigious amount of people shopping online rather than going to the physical retailer itself. With a rapid percentage increase in the number of people shopping online due to technological advancements occurring in out world. Advertising online would be a more effective way of promotion rather than bill boards, newspapers etc…. Internet advertising is cheap and is effective at reaching specific target groups searching for a particular site. If Zara use this, they can save a lot of money and target their desired audience. However, a disadvantage is that if there are too many of the same adverts, some people may report it, never showing the advert again which can reduce the amount of people wanting a product. If this happens with Zara, many customers will not be attracted to Zara.
