in 1939 p leased a block of flats to d for £2, 500, p agreed in writing to reduce the rent to £1,250 because of the war, to last until war was over, d paid reduced rent, p’s liquidator brought an action against d to recover the arrears of rent for the previous 6 months NO CONSIDERATION. war over in may so therefore he had to pay the amount for the last 6 months of the year in 1945.
