What is the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells?

A

Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus, or any internal membranes, so unlike eukaryotic cells, they have no membrane-bound organelles

  • Prokaryotic cells are small 1-10um and eukaryotic cells are larger 10-100um
  • Prokaryotic cells don’t have a nuclear envelope but eukaryotic cells have a double membrane
  • Prokaryotic have no chloroplast but eukaryotic have them in plants
