Project scope management
Defining and controlling what work is or is not included in a project
Project team members and stakeholders have a n understanding of the project and what processes the team will use to produce them
Collecting requirements
What will need to be done in order for the project to be completed
Often involves speaking to stakeholders, holding focus groups, facilitated workshops
Work break down structure
Deliverable-oriented grouping of the work involved in a project that defines its total scope
WBS dictionary
Document that provides detailed information about each wbs item, a definition of the work involved in the task
Validating scope
Formal acceptance of the completed project deliverables
Careful procedures developed to ensure that customers are getting what they want and that the project team has enough money and time to do it
Controlling scope
Managing changes to the project scope while keeping project goals and business strategy in mind
