Project Management Process Groups Flashcards
Process of formally authorizing a new project or the next phase of an existing project, resulting in Project Charter. The initial scope is defined and initial financial resources are committed. Internal and external stakeholders who
will interact and influence the overall outcome of the project are identified.
Initiating
Process of establishing the total scope of the effort, define and refine the objectives, and develop the course of action required to attain those objectives. This group contains more than 50% of the processes. Develop the project documents that will be used to carry out the project, which explore all aspects of the scope, time, cost, quality, communications, human resources, risks, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.
Planning
Integrating and performing the ACTIVITIES necessary to satisfy the project specifications and requirements, involving coordinating people and resources, managing stakeholder expectations.
Executing
Measure, analyze, and respond to project performance. Track, review, and orchestrate the progress. Quality Assurance in action.
Monitoring and Controlling
to conclude all activities across all Project Management Process Groups to formally complete the project, phase, or contractual obligations.
