critical path method (CPM)
A
-CPM calculates the longest path of planned activities and therefore determines the shortest time to complete the project.

steps of CPM
A
- compile a list of all activities required to complete the project
- estimate the time that each activity will take to complete
- identify the dependancies between the activities
- identify logical checkpoints such as milestones or deliverable items
- identify the longest path through the network of activites (this is the critical path)
