What is a business case?

A

Develop a business case: a basis for investment in the project, a
cost-benefit analysis in monetary value (NPV>0)

A business case is a project management document explaining how a project’s benefits outweigh its costs and why it should be executed. Business cases are prepared during the project initiation phase and their purpose is to include all the project’s objectives, costs and benefits to convince stakeholders of its value.

What is a project charter?

A

Develop a project charter: a document that formally authorizes the existence of a project, gives an overview of the project foundations and specifications, and provides the project manager with the authority to apply organisational resources.
