Identity & Organization. Identity and Access Management as a Service. Being able to tie your business to GCP. Can create users in for managing projects that fall under organizations. If you don’t have an organization, you can remain in Gmail account. G-Suite of applications of Google ties into GCP.
Three ways IAM can be set up
Gmail. Business. G-Suite Applications
Folders
Are placed underneath the organization. Unlimited number of folders. Limited to number of organizations and number of projects. Projects go into folders.
GCP Project ID
Cannot be duplicated, automatically assigned GLOBALLY unique project id. (ex. daring-atrium-270902). Recognizable unique way to reference/identify.
Can you assign members to a project?
Yes. Add Person. Add Appropriate Role for User Account. Roles give predefined permission levels. Least Privilege.
What are primitive privileges for users?
Under project: Browser, Editor, Owner, Viewer.
What are specific users?
Different categories and different roles in those categories. User in role can do anything in the project for the specific service assigned to them.
What does the user/member have to be?
A google account, G-Suite account, or Cloud identity account. Can add users through IAM.
What API’s do you want to expose to your project?
API & Services Dashboard. Can enable API’s for a ton of different areas.
What is the alternative for stack driver workspace?
Monitoring.
