1) Creation of “Meat Inspection Act” of 1906: requires all meat be inspected by the US Dept. of Agriculture to stop bad/mislabeled meat from being sold
2) Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906: requires all ingredients to be listed on labels of food and medicine; regulates additives (controls what may be added to these products)
3) FDA (Food and Drug Administration) created: requires all food and drugs to be tested, requires prescriptions and warnings for certain drugs

1) Congress passed the Sherman Antitrust Act which made trusts and monopolies illegal
2) Sued Standard Oil for violating the Sherman Antitrust Act
