A

It is a skill performed in a highly predictable environment in which the performer is in full control of the timing of the movements. The performer can commence the action when they are ready.

16
Q

How could someone at a cognitive/associative/autonomous level improve their dig?

A

They can get a chair and have a ball thrown to them and they have to keep the same form all the way through and they lift their body to follow through with the ball without withdrawing from the chair completely and return the ball (beginner)

They can have the ball thrown to them without the chair but they have to return it over the net.

They have to return the ball over the net with correct technique and fluency, when the ball is thrown from all different angles and heights.

17
Q

How can someone at a cognitive/associative/autonomous level improve their serve?

A

Beginner - practice the ball toss in the air to a comfortable height to hit, and continue this until the ball is thrown to the correct height and without spin. Practice with feet aswel

Intermediate - practice the serve with the right technique but use the net to show a clear goal and aim

Expert - practice this serve but have aims or dot points on the defensive court so there are clear markings as to wear the ball should go

18
Q

How could someone on a cognitive/associative/autonomous level improve their setting?

A

Beginner- Practice the right technique with diamond shaped hands bent knees, arms and hips slightly. Contact with fingers, extend legs and arms toward target, transfer weight.

Intermediate - practice this but to a spiker so that it’s more game like

Expert - practice to a spiker but with a blocker too, so that if the blocker gets it back over the net the player can then practice changing quickly to a dig or whatever is needed.
