Always allow plenty of time when taking over trains.
If in doubt always stop, ask the signaller.
Brief description of driving technique?
Always start train on low power notches to fill the transmissions , and allow train to reach 5mph before moving the power handle progressively to a higher setting.
These techniques will need to be adjusted depending on gradients, rail adhesion, signalling sequences and train performance.
