Mass production involves automation of input processes to produce the required output in large amounts. For example, car manufacturer.
Advantages:
- low unit costs
- consistent quality standards
- constant rate of output
Disadvantages:
- initial high set up costs
- unmotivated employees through repetitive low skilled work
- no allowance for customisation

Project or Job process
A
Involves production of one item as single entity from start to finish. Labour and equipment comes to product. For example, a construction of a building.
Advantages:
- workers take pride in craftsmanship
Disadvantages:
- expensive and time consuming
