Q

What is tertiary production and what are its features

A

Tertiary Sector: This sector provides services rather than goods. Chefs, as well as restaurants in general, are part of this sector. While they might be preparing and selling food, they’re providing the service of cooking and presentation, as well as the experience of dining. Other examples of the tertiary sector include banking, retail, transportation, education, health services, and many more.

So, chefs, by offering a service (preparing and serving meals), fall under the tertiary sector of the economy.

Q

What are the chains of production

A

The chain of production shows interdependence: firms rely on other businesses in different sectors for raw materials, components or distribution.

Ex. Petrol

Primary Production mines oil

Secondary Production converts raw oil into petrol

Tertiary Production stores petrol, advertises petrol and transports petrol, helping the other production lines and providing a service not product.
