Product Line Flashcards
What does LIMS stand for?
Laboratory Information Management System
Our core LIMS product goes by what name?
Elab
We will often provision a “Scicloud Server.” Why?
There are a number of services (applications) that are hosted on one of these servers. Most are designed to integrated with Elab, though, either can stand alone, or product goals include the capability of utilization as a standalone product.
What is OpenSocial?
This is a service built and maintained by LabLynx to provide Single Sign On. It is meant to integrate with our internal network for network logins, but also with various web applications. This is intended to be the primary login service for all web applications that we build and/or host.
What does the term “Scicloud” reference?
This is a cloud application hosting framework, based on dockerization and automation. While the server for this hosts applications, management applications are also present to help manage. Scicloud.Net is intended as a user portal to their integrated applications, and profile. Scicloud.Studio is utilized to manage the application stack. Authentication is tightly integrated with the OpenSocial service.
What does the term “LabVia” reference?
This is the suite of integration services, devices and applications. These generally integrate with Elab, however, can integrate with any service.
Labvia.com (or labvia.app) utilizes nodered for custom integrations.
LabVia Pi devices are IOT devices that are meant to be placed in client environments where information is not otherwise accessible.
What is “ElabNotes” and where is this hosted from?
ElabNotes is our ELN (Electronic Laboratory Notebook) that is hosted on the Scicloud server.
What is “Sciforge” and where is this hosted from?
Sciforge is meant to be a development suite that internal or external developers can use, with documentation. In it’s current form, it is hosted on the scicloud server as a GraphQL based web API. It gets used with the WordPress portals to get data from the LIMS. In the future, it will be used to provide data to other applications, such as Elab.
