Managing the so called “Development Funnel” involes a set of different challenges. Describre these managerials challenges as described by Wheelwirght and Clark
The development funnel involves three very different task or challenges
- Widen its mouth (inputs, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customers, Suppliers)
Gathering Ideas from different sources rather than R&D. (Conversely to Model I)
Institute procedures and incentives that encourage innovation and imputs form all parts of the organization, as well as customer, competitors and suppliers.
Through Creating Functional Maps
- Narrow the Funnel Neck (Constant flow of good projects flows on it)
Detailing Ideas and Generate go or not go situations
- Ensure that the selected projects deliver on the objectives anticipated when the project was approved
Project Management.
Explain and describe the different activities during the “Design-Building-Test Cycle” and illustrate where the two methods: DFA and QFD could come to play in this cycle (5p)
