1.1 one off production
When only one product is made at a time.
1.2 batch production
A specific quantity (batch) of identical products are produced at a time.
1.3 mass production
Products are manufactured in very large quantities.
1.4 quality assurance
The guarantee, given by manufacturers, that their products meet standards of quality.
1.5 quality control
The checks the manufacturer does during production to make sure products are up to standard.
1.6 computer aided design
Using a computer to design a product.
1.7 computer aided manufacture
Using a computer to control a machine to make a product.
1.8 components
Parts that make up a product.
1.9 jig
Used to hold a piece of material in place to indicate where to drill, cut or bend the material.

A shape that can be drawn round repeatedly to produce identical shapes.
1.11 mould
A hollow container used to form soft or molten material into a solid 3d form.
1.12 former
A device used to help form the shape of a piece of material.
1.13 tolerance
The maximum variations allowed form a standard size, plus or minus.

Anything that describes the appearance or structure of a material or how it reacts to forces or elements.
2.2 mechanical property
Properties associated with how a material reacts to external forces.
