A
  • Assess potential bidders (H&S, QA, experience, resources, financial security)
  • Reduce list of suppliers (saves time)
  • Questions such as cash-flow, financial stability
  • Use of Yes/No questions - quicker for both parties
  • Can sometimes use pre-determined suppliers (accredited)

  • ITT issued, detailed document, follows procurement rules
  • Bidders can ask questions but answers must be shared with all

  • Deadline for bids, and clear/transparent process to avoid accusations of bias
  • Price broken down into different elements (installation, parts, commissioning etc)
  • Delivery - overall delivery maybe key criteria, schedule and milestones
  • Capability and capacity
  • Quality processes - accreditation e.g. ISO 9000
  • Suppliers can be asked to present solutions
