What are the 4 types of transportation?
A
- Traction- large heavy sediment (boulders and pebbles) are rolled along the seabed, pushed by currents
- Saltation- smaller sediment e.g. silt bounces along the seabed, pushed by currents as heavier sediment cannot be picked up by water
- Suspension- small sediment e.g. fine particles of clay is carried with flow
- Solution- dissolved material is carried with water, fundamental for carbon weathering
