Process Analysis - Hazards Flashcards
What are the five types of hazards?
Chemical, Biological, process, physical, ergonomic.
What are Chemical Hazards and list 3 of them
Chemical hazards are inherently hazardous properties and substances. Always accompanied by a Safety Data Sheet.
Corrosive, toxic, flammable.
What are Biological hazards and how are the separated in categories?
Biological substances that pose a threat to the health of living organisms.
Biohazard 1: do not cause disease in healthy humans.
Biohazard 2: cause mild disease to humans
Biohazards 3: can cause serious or potential lethal illness
Biohazard 4: viruses that cause severe to fatal disease in humans.
Process hazards arise from the conditions under processes are carried out, list some of them:
Temperature Pressure Electrical Noise Loss of Containment Fire and ignition Explosion
