What are some things to take into consideration when imaging a patient with a fractured extremity?

A
  1. Support the injured limb and both joints (if the extremity must be lifted)
  2. Take cross-table images if possible (to avoid moving the injured extremity)
  3. If a true AP & lateral cannot be obtained, take 2 oblique projections 90 degrees apart
