Throttles forward
Gear up
Flaps up
Identify (idle foot idle engine)
Verify (close throttle)
Prop (fix or feather?) above 950 RPM
2-3 degree of bank towards op engine (raise the dead)
Trim for 88
Checklist
Engine Failure (after rotation with gear down and enough available runway)
Both throttles to idle
Land straight ahead
Apply max brakes
Pre-Takeoff Briefing
Engine failure or abnormality prior to Vr: abort take off, throttles immediately closed, brake straight ahead
If not enough runway to stop: mixture to cutoff, fuel selectors, mags, battery master off, maintain directional control and avoid obstacles
Engine failure after Vr w/gear down: maintain directional control, throttles closed, land straight ahead and brake
Engine failure after Vr w/gear up: maintain directional control, mix’s, prop, throttle forward, flaps and gear up, identify, verify, feather, mixture to cutoff, climb at 88, declare emergency to land
Engine Failure At Takeoff (prior to Vmc (56)).
He will pull mixture.
Both throttles to idle
Maintain directional control on centerline of runway
Apply max brakes
Come to a complete stop
Hold brakes
Throttle Full
Release Brakes
Departure
Vmc Recovery
Reduce power on operating engine
Pitch nose down
Steep Turns
Altitude recoverable by 3,000 AGL
Clearing turn
MP 18 RPM 2300-2500
Airspeed 110
Set heading bug, pick landmark
45 degree bank
Add power to maintain airspeed
Trim
Rollout on initial heading and push down the nose
Perform in opposite direction.

Power-Off Stall
Altitude recoverable by 3,000 AGL
Clear the area
Set heading bug if straight and pick landmark
MP 15
Airspeed below 140 gear down below 111 flaps up to 40 degrees
Establish a stabilized descent throttles to idle
Pitch up to induce stall by maintaining altitude
At first indication reduce pitch, throttle full, flaps 25
After established positive rate gear up, flaps 10, flaps 0
Accelerate to cruise flight 110 kts
Return to altitude, heading, and airspeed set by examiner
+-10 degrees bank if turning not to exceed 20 degrees, +-10 degrees heading if straight
Power-On Stall
Altitude recoverable by 3,000 AGL
Clear area
Set heading bug, pick landmark
MP below 15
Pitch to maintain altitude
Below 100 kts props forward
At 82 kts power to 20 MP
Increase pitch to induce stall
At first indication reduce pitch, throttle full
Verify gear up and flaps 0
Accelerate to cruise flight 110 kts
Return to altitude, heading, and airspeed set by examiner
+-10 degrees bank if turning not to exceed 20 degrees, +-10 degrees heading if straight
Short Field Takeoff
Reference checklist procedures
Flaps set at 25 degrees
Use all available take off space
Brakes max

Below 111 flaps 10 degrees
Below 100 props forward
Below 90 flaps 25 degrees
Below 90 flaps 40 degrees
Increase power to maintain altitude

Adjust trim
Perform requested maneuvers without stall warning
+-100 ft altitude, +-10 kts airspeed, +-10 degrees of bank, +-10 degrees heading
Slow Flight Recovery
Smoothly reduce pitch
Throttles full
Flaps 25 degrees
Pitch for minimal loss of altitude
Once positive rate of climb established gear up, flaps 10 degrees, flaps 0 degrees

Throttles below 15 MP
Below 100 KIAS props full
Airspeed 92 KIAS
Left engine throttle idle
Right engine throttle full
Pitch Increase to lose 1kt per second
Recover at first indication of stall, redline (56), or loss of dir control
Right engine reduce to regain directional control
Reduce pitch (min loss of altitude)
Directional control regained
Right engine power to full
Pitch for minimal loss of altitude
