- used when cervical cancer is suspected
- indication: abnormal PAP smear indicating that cancerous cells are potentially present or if there is more than one PAP smear in a row that shows findings of unusual cells.
- usually done at the same time we do a colposcopy
EMB
endometrial biopsy
indications: DUB (dysfunctional uterine bleeding) or thickened endometrium
hysteroscopy
(uterus) a procedure that allows your doctor to look inside your uterus in order to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding
laminaria insertion
a type of seaweed kelp. it may have antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It can also be used as a laxative. A laminaria stick is a dried bundle of laminaria that’s been compressed into a stick. When inserted into the vagina, a laminaria stick absorbs the moisture and expands. This gently opens (dilates) the cervix.
laparoscopy
(pelvic region or abdomen) an examination of the abdominal organs using surgical methods to determine the reason of pain or other complications of the pelvic region or abdomen.

(loop electric excision procedure) (cervix) removal of cervical cells
myomectomy
(uterus) surgical removal of the fibroids
salpingectomy
fallopian tubes removal
tubal ligation
(fallopian tubes) surgery to close fallopian tubes for sterilization
