Probe & Periodic Charting Flashcards
Mobility reading (N)
normal, physiologic
Mobility reading (1 or I)
slight mobility, greater than normal
Mobility reading (2 or II)
moderate mobility, greater than 1 mm displacement.
Mobility reading (3 or III)
severe mobility, may move in all directions, vertical as well as horizontal
what is fremitus?
movement of teeth
furcation classification GRADE 1
pocket formation in the depression of the root bifurcation, not the interradicular bone is intact
furcation classification GRADE II
pocket formation with loss of interradicular bone and the probe can access the furca space between
furcation classification GRADE III
complete loss of interradicular bone, probe can under the furca to the oppose side of the tooth
furcation classification GRADE IV (4)
loss of attachment and gingival recession, making furca clearly visible
