Q

Empirical Cumulative Distribution Function (ECDF)

A
  • X-axis is the unit of the feature
  • Y-axis is the fraction of data that has smaller than the corresponding X value
  • It always accumulates to 1

Probability Density Function

A

Probability of a given range to occur instead of a single instance, which would be close to zero since a continous range can be quite large

Poisson Distribution

A

Discrete distribution for probability of events occuring in a fixed interval.

Every interval is the same as the other.

No interval affects another interval.

Examples that may follow a Poisson distribution include the number of phone calls received by a call center per hour
