Q

What do you understand when you say discrete distributions?

A

This distributions are all models for the number of something- eg. Number of success, number of trials, number of deaths, number of claims. The values assumed by the variable are integers from the set {1, 2, 3, … } - such variables are often referred to as counting variables.

Uniform distribution

A

This distribution has equals assignments to all outcomes (ie. All outcomes are equally likely ).

Bernoulli distribution

A

A Bernoulli trial is an experiment which has or can be regarded as having only two possible outcomes - success or failure. This distribution can be used to indicate whether or not some specified event, A say, occurs.
