The three RMC Attacked walcheren with little support other than naval support craft which were manned by three RM crew

The success was dude to self-sacrifice and gallantry of the navy support craft

A

As a RMC you will serve an open engagement which will last for 18 years or to the age of 40, which ever is longer. This can extend up to the age of 55. You will usually be able to hand in 12 months notice and will only be after serving 3 years.

The battle of Gibraltar took place on 24th July 1704 and was to capture the rock of Gibraltar from the Spanish

A

The Battle of Trafalgar took place in 1805 fought by the Royal Navy And RMC during the Napoleonic Wars against the French and Spanish naval forces.

A

Beginning on the 28/10/1664 with the formation of the duke of York and albanys maritime regiment of the foot - this soon became known as the admirals regiment.

A

The battle of bunker hill took place on 17th June 1775 and was fought against American rebel forces which were dominating the high ground to the north of the two hills.

Battle of Gallipoli

A

28th April 1915

3rd Royal Marines landed on the Gallipoli peninsula to dismantle Turkish defensive positions. For 13 days the marines fought continuously against Turkish soldiers which then drove back the Allied forces after heavy losses.

21 officers and 217 men killed.

What was the RMC involvement in The Normandy landings

A

Over 16000 Royal Marines took park in the largest amphibious operation in history.

5 Commando units landed during the assault (41 , 45 , 47 and 48) along with two special services brigades (SAS and SBS)

Ashore by 0900 on 6th June and achieved objective by early 7th June.

Lead a leading role in the defeat of the German army.

Describe the recapture of the falklands

Starting on 2nd April by naval part 8901

42 Commandos recaptured South Georgia

May 1st the SBS carried out Intel gathering operations which were critical to the successor main assault.

Executed by 3 Commandos BRG bad reinforced by two parachute regiments.

Through continuous fighting and bore the brunt fighting from the RMC and supporting units lead to the surrender of the argentine forces on 14th of June.

3520 Royal Marines (50% of corps)

2 officers and 25 men killed.
