What is privacy?
The right to be private. It is a fundamental human right.
For consumers, this their right have PII protected.
What is the right to be forgotten?
What is on the internet once tends to stay forever, and there is no current EU law to counter that.
How can individiauls stay private online?
Difficult to do.
Only allow cookies that are required, and get rid of them when you are done with them.
Use a variety of emails to hide your identity.
Use encryption and filtering tools.

What is social media?
An online presence that users can make to interact and connect with other individuals.
What is SNA?
Social Network Analysis
Analysis of social networks in terms of relationships.
Underpinned by network theory.
How is the data from social media used?
A profile can be built about an individual from those who they are connected with, especially if that individual has >= 8 connectons.
What is Metcalfe’s law?
A network’s value is directly proportional to the square of the number of connected nodes.
How can the strength of relationships be determined by social media?
Duration of contact
Frequency of contact
Stability of contact
What is a triad on a graph?
Smallest group, therefore the strongest structure.
What is a clique in a graph?
Groups of individuals that are interconnected
What is a hub in a graph?
A well connected node
What is a bridge in graph theory?
A node that connects cliques.
What is the core in graph theory?
