Principles of training:

FITT : Frequency, intensity, time, type.
PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD: making training gradually harder.
SPECIFICITY : matching training requirements to that sport.
INDIVIDUAL NEEDS : take into account a persons body build and levels of fitness and there aims.
REST : recovery time.
RECOVERY: allowing body tissue to recover and repair following training.
REVERSIBILITY : physical benefits gained from training will be reversed when you stop.
