what is the biomedical models’ perspective of psychology and illness?
psychology is a consequence not cause of illness.
what are the criticism of the biomedical model?
- it does not see the whole person, focuses on the physical manifestation of disease.
- does not consider other factors: social, psychological, environmental, economic factors involved in disease, only biological factors.
- individuals have no role to play in their own health.
what is the psychosomatic medicine?
the perspective that physical illnesses are the manifestations of psychological factors.
what is the behavioural medicine?
using behavioural therapy and and
