It’s a pattern in which the same elements are repeated; however with rhythm there are slight variations in the pattern.

- Area that first attracts attention in the composition.
- Most important compared to other objects and elements in the composition by contrast of values, more colors, and placement in the format.

Occurs when all the elements of a piece combine to make a balanced, harmonious, complete whole.

A
Refers to the arrangement of opposite elements in a piece to create visual interest, excitement, and drama.

A
Refers to one object or shape repeated.

A
Brings together a composition with similar units.

A
- The path the viewer’s eye takes through the artwork often to a focal area.
- It can be directed along lines, edges, shapes, and color.
