Contrast
Difference between various elements in an artwork thay makes them stand out from each other.
Balance
Balance can be symmetrical or asymmetrical
Empahsis
Emphasis is what makes certain elements to stand out from the rest of the artwork.
It can also be used to minimise the impact that one element of the atwrok has on the piece overall.
Proportion
Is the relation of size of one object to another.
Repetiton
The consecutive pattern of a shape or line that creates a pattern or sense of rhythm or movement
Rhythm
The spacing between elements that is equal which creates a pattern type of structure to the image thus creating a sense of rhythm to the image
Pattern
Repetition of design elements to form a pattern
Movement
The way a person’s eyes travel over the artwork. The movement typically leads to the centre of intrest/ focal point
Variety
Creates visual interest in an image
Unity
How well the elements of the artwork ‘fit’ together to create a sense of harmony within the piece
