Princeples of training Flashcards
Name the four principles of training
specifity
overload
progression
reversibility
Specificy
Training must be matched to the needs of the sport or individual.
Overload
Placing a greater than normal stress that is applied on the body for training adaptions to take place.
Reversibility
Any adaptation that has taken place as a result will be lost if you stop training
Progression
Gradual increase in exersize in order for the body to adapt through training
Using the fitt priniple
FITT principle
Frequency
Intensity
Time
Type
Identify the seven types of training
hcontinous
fartlek
interval
circuit
hitt
weight
plyometric
continuous training
steady state exercise at a moderate intensity without rest
Fartlek training
Training which varies in intensity and duration combining runing and sprinting over different terrains
Interval training
periods of exercise followed by periods of rest
Circuit training
A series of exersize performed at stations after the other.
HITT training
High intensity exercise followed by periods of rest
Weight Training
Using a resistance (free weights or resistance machines) to overload the muscles
Plyometric training
Explosive training that includes jumping, bounding and hopping.
Five components of a warm up
Pulse raiser
