Lesions
Lesions in the initial stages of development or change .
Primary lesions
Large blister containing a watery fluid similar to a vesicle
Bulla
Closed abnormally developed sac that contains pus semi fluid or morbid matter above or below the skin
Cyst or tubercle
Flat spot or discoloration on the skin freckle or age spot
Macule
A solid bump larger than 0.4 inches(1cm) that can be easily felt . Swollen lymph nodes rheumatoid nodules
Nodule
A small elevation on the skin that contains no fluid but may develop pus . Acne warts elevates nevi
Papule
Raised inflamed papule with a white or yellow center containing pus in the top of the lesion . Acne impetigo folliculitis
Pustule
Abnormal mass varying in size shape and color . Example cancer
Tumor
Small blister or sac containing clear fluid lying with or just beneath the epidermis . Example poison ivy poison oak
Vesicle
An itchy swollen lesion that can be caused by a blow scratch bite of an insect or urticaria or the sting of a nettle . Examples hives mosquito bites
